Out of Place showcases interdisciplinary work exploring psychological space by tapping into the collective unconscious among a tight-knit community of artists often reacting to one another, consciously or not. Beginning with depictions of home, architecture, and landscape as portals into the space, representations of memory become a medium for grief and longing for a place. Moving into a symbolic peek behind the curtain at what is hidden below the conscious mind, a more intimate space of confession, curiosity, and vulnerability reveals itself. Hidden fears and desires come to light in depictions of dreams, fantasies, and distant memories. While piecing together memory and experience into something new, hybrid fantasies of potential futures open up.
